Keep Your Data Forever

lepas ini kaca gantikan CD..canggih lak aii..Earlier this week, Hitachi announced its new data storage invention: laser-etched binary codes on a 2cm square piece of fireproof quartz glass. An optical microscope paired with a computer capable of deciphering the data can then recover information stored in it. Hitachi claims that this new technology supposedly can preserve data information for millions of years.
Of course, there are some technical aspects which needs to be addressed, chief of which is its limited storage space per square inch. At the moment the quartz glass can only store around 40MB per square inch, which according to The Verge is about the same as a CD-R. Of course, with time this may just be the new storage standard to replace our current limited lifespan storage solutions.
